The Winter Warmer - 24th January

Registration : 8:30am - 9:30am at The Angler's Arms
Race Start: 10:00am


3 laps of a 14km circuit, including sections of the Deadwater Trail, and forest roads.

The Border Raid - 16th May

Saturday 16th May

Registration : 8:30am - 9:30am at The Angler's Arms
Race Start: 10:00am


This is a 50km route which will take you through the lower sections of the Deadwater Trail at Kielder, before heading South West to the Scottish Border. Arriving at the 7 Stanes trail centre at Newcastleton, it will take you down the 'Hidden Valley', before winding its way back to Kielder, via a mix of forest road and some great singletrack.

The Hot Trod - 4th July

Registration : 8:30am - 9:30am at The Angler's Arms
Race Start: 10:00am


1 Laps of a 45km loop in the forest area to the North of Kielder Village, and to the South, consisting of some fine, rooty singletrack, some forest roads, and ending on the Deadwater Trail.

Octoberfest - 10th October

Registration : 8:30am - 9:30am at The Angler's Arms
Race Start: 10:00am


Octoberfest is the last race of the 2008 Marathon Series. It'll be over 2 laps of a 25km circuit, concentrating on the area of forest to the North of Kielder village. There'll be some cracking rooty singletrack, some forest roads, and it will finish off with the final downhill sections of the Deadwater Trail.

Each event will be pre-marked, and route maps will be available to view on the morning of the race days.

The overall series winner in each class receives a challenge shield (to be returned the following year) and a replica (to keep). Class winners on the day receive prizes donated by The Bike Place. Points are awarded for both position and attendance.

The entry fee for each event is £18 and should be paid at least 4 days in advance. This includes hot food at The Angler's Arms after the event.

The races are organised by the Kielder Trail Reavers in conjunction with Forestry Commission, and run under TCA guidelines. All proceeds are to be split equally between KTR and Great North Air Ambulance.
